அகாலகப் பக்குவம்

a. காலமில்லாத காலத்தில் பெண்கள் பருவமடைதல். சாதாரணமாகப் பெண்கள் 11 அல்லது 12வது வயதில் பக்குமடைவார்கள். சூதகத்தைக் கருதிப் பக்குவமடைந்ததாகக் கருதப்படாது, சில பெண்கள் ருதுவாதற்கு முன்னமே பருவமடைந்து விடுவார்கள். இது தேக வியல்பையும் திடத்தையும் பொறுத்தது. மற்றுஞ் சிலரோ நோயினாலும், நல் வாழ்க்கையினால் உழைப்பின்றி இருப்பதாலும், நெடுங்காலம் வரைக்கும் பருவமடையாதிருப்பார்கள்.

b. The attainment of pubery (in a female) at an improper age. A girl between 11 and 12 would be immature. Puberty may not generally be attained at the first menstruation but only subsequently. Some girls may have all the bodily developments of puberty before menstruation and this depends upon the nature, strength and other pathological conditions of the body. Some other may not mature for some years after the catamenial flow, as in the case of girls in good circumstances for want of exercise and development of the body. Sexual maturity may be attained before the onset of menstruation but it is very rare.
(NOTE: 1. Puberty is the period at which the generative organs of the female become capable of exercising the functions of reproduction – Reproductive Maturity.
NOTE:2. The attainment of puberty is not a sudden event. It is a process spread over many months or year. Menstruation is one of the steps though it may be delayed.).
