அம்பட்டன் கத்தி

- a. ஓர் வகைக் கடல் மீன், இது நீளமாயும், கத்தியின் பிடியைப் போற் குறுகலாயும் இருப்பதைப் பற்றியே இதற்கு இப்பெயர் வாய்ந்தது. இதன் மேல் பெரும் புள்ளிகள் 2-3 வரிசைகளாக்க காணப்படும். இது 8½ அங்குல நீளம் இருக்கும். முதுகின் பக்கம் நீல நிறமாயும், பக்கமும், வயிறும், வெள்ளியைப் போல் பளபளப்பாயும் காணப்படும்.
b. A kind of sea fish (Barber and knife) - Razor fish – Mene maculate e.f. Notopterus (Barber Vaulay). It is so called from its being long and narrow like the handle of a razor. It has 2 or 3 rows of large spots along the superior half of the body. It is 8 ½ inches in length. It is a sea-fish, blue on the black and silvery white on the sides and on the abdomen.
