a. செந்நிறமான சீமைப்பிச்சி. இது வாதுமையைப் போன்றது, பாரசீகத்திலிருந்து இவ்விடத்திற்குக் கொண்டு வந்து பயிராக்கப்பட்டதால் இதற்கு பாரசீகப் பழம் என்ற பெயருமுண்டு.

b. A well – Known fruit of a pale red colour allied to the almond. The tree is supposed to have been brought originally from Persia and hence it is also called the Persian fruit.
