b. Alangy, Hill sack tree - Alangium Lamarckii alias A. Decapitalum. A tree whose root, bark, fruits, flowers, leaves etc, are medicinal and are used as antidotes for poison snake-bites etc. It is also said to be useful for occult purposes owing to its psychic virtues. It will be found grown in rocky places in Malabar, Coromandel and Assam. The juice of the root is used in dropsy.
