(In Botany) it is said to belongs to Excoecaria genus and the species best known are classified as Agallocha (Tiger’s Milk) and Sebifera (China tallow). The other South Indian Species, indigenous and naturalised are Baccata, Cochin, Chinensis, Indica, Insignis and Oppositifolia. This name is also used for (a) Aquilaria Agallocha (Eaglewood) (b) Pterocarpus santalinus (Red sanders) as in அகருகந்தம்”.
