- a. பேயெள்ளு, இது தரையோடு தரையாய்ப் படர்ந்திருக்கும். பூப் பெரியது; மிகச் சிகப்பு. இது சாதாரணமாய்க் கடற்கரை ஓரங்களில் மணற்குன்று அல்லது மணல் மேடுகளில் மேல் விளையும்.
b. Wild gingelly – Sesamum prostratum. It is a prostrate – growing plant bearing large and deep rose-colored flowers. It is common on the sand hills near the sea-coats and hence it is called also ‘Sand-binder’.
