- a. அமுக்கிரா என்னும் ஓர் கடைச் சரக்கு, இக்கிழங்கைச் சூரணஞ் செய்து, இருமல், சயம், பாண்டு, வயிற்று மந்தம் இவைகளுக்குக் கொடுக்கலாம். வீக்கங்களுக்கு இதைச் சுக்குடன் அரைத்துத் தடவக் குணமாகும். வாயுக் கட்டிக்கும் இழைத்துப் போட அது கரையும். கரப்பான் குணமாகும்.
b. Horse-root – Withania somnifera. It is a bazaar drug. The powdered root is given for cough, consumption, dropsy, and bowel complaint; externally it is very useful in cases of swelling when used as a paste, ground with dried ginger. It is also useful in boils and abscesses which disappear on its application. It also cures eczema.
