a. அப்பைக் கொவ்வை, அப்பைக் கோவை - ஓர் வகைக் கோவைக்கொடி, இது படற்கொடி, இதன் அடித்தண்டு நுண்ணியதாகவும், மொசுமொசுப்பாகவும், இலைகள் இருதய வடிவமாகவும் நீண்ட காம்புகளுடன் கூடியும், காய் ஒன்றுக்கு 2-6 விதைகளுள்ளதாகவும் இருக்கும். விதைகள் கருப்பாயும் தட்டையாயுமிருக்கும். பூக்கள் இரண்டு ஒன்று சேர்ந்தும் இருக்கும். இதன் சூரணம் அழற்சியைப் போக்கிச் சாந்தப்படுத்தும். இது தரங்கம் பாடியில் விசேஷம். இதன் இலை தட்சணத்தில் கீரையாக உபயோகப்படும்.
