b. Ground neem, French chirreta – Andrographis paniculata alias Justicia paniculata. This is equivalent to another bitter plant called Colombo root – Severtia chiretta. It is a Non – Aryan bitter plant used for bilious and torpid fever. The bitterness is due to a non-basic principle, there being no alkaloid.
