- a. ஆட்டுக் காலடம்பு அல்லது முசற்றழை. அடப்பங் கொடி - ஆட்டுக் காலடம்பு, இதன் இலை ஆட்டுக் குளம்பைப் போல் இருத்தலால் இப் பெயர். இலை மிருதுவாயும், வட்டமாயும், சதைப்பற்றுள்ளதாயும் இருக்கும்; பூக்கள் பெரியவைகளாகவும், சிகப்பும் நீல நிறமும் கலந்தவைகளாகவும் இருக்கும், இக்கொடியைச், சென்னைக் கடற்கரைய ஓரங்களில் சாதாரணமாய்க் காணலாம். இலை வயிற்று வலிக்கும், வாயுப் பிடிப்புகளுக்கும் ஒத்தடம் கொடுக்க உதவும்.
b. Goat’s foot creeper; goat’s foot convolvulus or hare leaf Ipomaea biloba. A creeping plant known as goat’s foot creeper. It is so called from the impressions of the leaf resembling a goat’s foot. Leaves are smooth roundish and fleshy; flowers are large bluish purple. It is common in places sandy like the beach of Madras and so it is also called ‘Sandbinder’. The decoction of the leaves is used for fomentation in colic and rheumatism.
