அட்ட கரும வித்தை

பஞ்சாட்சரத்தின் மாறலினால் செய்து முடிக்கும் எட்டு வகை மாந்திரீகத் தொழிலையடுத்த அசாத்திய காரியங்கள், அவையாவன - (In Mantric science) The eight kinds of supernatural powers attained by one as a result of the performance of the following eight kinds of magic according to the permutations and combinations of the five sacred letters (ந.ம.சி.வ.ய.) known as Panchakshara and they are:-
i. ஆக்கருடணம், invoking a spirit by means of incantations.
ii. உச்சாடனம், the expulsion of evil spirits by adjurations and ceremonies – Exorcism.
iii. பேதனம், causing separation, dissention, discord etc. in a family or among friends.
iv. மாரணம், causing death by magic spell or sorcery.
v. மோகனம், power of enchanting.
vi. வசியம், getting a person into one’s power.
vii. வித்து வேடணம், causing enmity or hatred.
viii. தம்பனம், suspending the natural functions such as (1) stopping or restraining the power or action of fire (2) stopping the flow of water or blood (3) depriving one of the power of speech, action or mortion (4) checking the farocity of wild beasts, etc.
