a. அத்தி மரத்தின் வேரினின்று வடியும் நீர். இதற்கு அத்திக்கள் அல்லது அத்திவேர்த் தண்ணீர் என்றும் பெயர். இது உடம்பிற்குக் குளிர்ச்சியையுண்டாக்கி, வெட்டைச்சூடு, கண்ணெரிச்சல் முதலியவைகளைப் போக்கும். இதைச் சாதாரணமாய்க் கலையங்களிற் பிடித்துச் சேகரிப்பதுண்டு. வைத்தியர்கள் இதைக் கற்பமெனக் கருதுவார்கள்.

b. A fluid exuding from the root of the fig-tree. It is also known as ‘fig-toddy’ It is used for cooling the system and for removing the venereal heat and inflammation of the eyes. It is collected in pots and preserved for use. Veidyans regard it as a powerful tonic – Kalpam.
