a. நீலாஞ்சனக்கல் அல்லது கருநிமிளை. இதைக் கண்ணில் தீட்டச் சளிப்பு, காய்ச்சல், சன்னிதோஷம் முதலியன நீங்கும்.
b. A black stone; Collyrium Antimony or properly sulphuret of antimony. Antimonium sulphuretum. The Veidyans of our place use it as an external application on the eyelids in cases of cold, fever, delirium etc.
Note: A metal of a lead gray color it is met with in compact and rhomboid prisms. Galena or sulphuret of lead is often sold for it in bazaars. It is in a cubic form; a large quantity of native antimony is brought from Siam. Its sulphate is used as an emetic by physicians. Combined with nitre and sulphur, it is used in veterinary practice for skin diseases. It is also used by the Mahomadans for cooling the eyes and for painting the eye brows and eye lashes.
a. சுருமாக்கல்.
b. ( I lind) A mineral stone, native antimony called Soorma. It is used for cooling the eyes and for painting the eye lashes and eye brows.
Note: The Soorma is prepared for use in different ways.
1. By trituration in metallic state with sulphur
2. Subjecting it to heat with brown phosphate of lime.
3. Subjecting it to alkalics hence anitimoniated sulphur.
4. Subjecting it to acids hence tartar emetic.
