அலரிப்பட்டை

a. அலரி மரத்தின் பட்டை, இது கனதியாயும், வெளிப்பக்கம் சாம்பல் நிறமும் உட்புறம் மஞ்சள் நிறமும் வாய்ந்திருக்கும். இதை வெட்டினால் மஞ்சள் நிறமான, வாசனையும், விருவிருப்பும் உள்ள ஓர் பிசின் ஒழுகும். படைகளுக்கு அதை அரைத்துக் குழைத்துப் போடுவதுண்டு, இப்பட்டையை எண்ணெயில் சேர்த்துக் தைலமிறக்கி உடம்பில் செதில் செதிலாக உண்டாகும் குஷ்டத்திற்கு உபயோகிக்கலாம்.

b. The bark of the tree, Indian oleander – Nerium odorum. It is thick and its external surface is grey and the internal surface is yellow. The bark when cut, exudes a pale yellow, resinous sticky matter with a peculiar odour and a some what acrid and bitter taste. It is used externally as a repellent and made into a paste and applied in cases of ringworm. The oil extracted from the root is used in exfoliation of the skin in leprosy.
