அபினிச் சத்து

[ Abinichchaththu]

a. அபினியினின்று இறங்கும் சத்து. இதை ஆங்கிலேயர்கள் மார்பைன் என்று சொல்லுவார்கள். இது வெள்ளைப் பற்பமாயும் கசப்பாயுமிருக்கும். இதில் சிறிய அளவு 1/10 கிரேயன், முழு அளவு 2/3 கிரேயன்; அதிகஅளவிற் கொடுத்தால் மரணதிற்கிடம் ஆகும். இதை மயக்கத்திற்காகவும் உணர்ச்சி அறியாமலிருக்கவும் உபயோகிப்பதுண்டு. சீனத்தார்கள் இதை விஷேசமாய் உட்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.

b. Extract of opium – Morphine or Cocaine. It is a white amorphous powder with a bitter taste. 1/10 grain of this is a small does and ½ grain is a full dose. If given in over doses it may cause death. It is used to induce intoxication, unconsciousness or insensibility. It is largely consumed by the Chinese.
