அகவாயுக்கள்

a. உடம்பினிலுள்ள அந்தக்கரணங்களைச் சீவனோடு கூட்டி நின்று ஆட்டுவிக்கும் ஐந்து வித வாயுக்கள், அவையாவன:
   1. வைரம்பன்
   2. முக்கியன்
   3. பிரபஞ்சனன்
   4. அந்தர்யாமி,
   5. மகா பிராணன்.

b. The five vital airs, which in communication with the soul, are supposed to operate upon the intellectual faculties of human beings. The soul is said to be embedded in the five fold sheaths or garments. Ordinarily the soul and its coverings are manifested together. But the soul is different from the sheaths when the Upadhis are not manifested.
