அண்ட விருத்தி

பிடுக்குப்பருத்துக் காணல். இது அடியில் கண்டபடி பல காரணங்களை முன்னிட்டுப் பருத்துக்காணும் - (Literally) Swelling of the testicles. It may be due to the following causes viz. The term அண்ட விருத்தி literally means enlargement of the scrotum, which may be due to several causes as mentioned below. So it is a general term referring to all kinds of enlargement of the scrotum irrespective of their causes, but not to any particular disease.
1. மூத்திர வேகத்தை அடக்குவதால் பிடுக்கு வீங்கிக்காணல் - Inflammation and swelling of the scrotum due to the suppression of urine.
2. அண்ட வாயு - உடம்பின் வாயு சம்பந்தத்தினால் பிடுக்கு வீங்கிப்பருத்தல் - Swelling of the scrotum due to the deranged condition of Vayu in the system – orchitis.
3. பிடுக்கு அல்லது பீசப்பையில் நீர் சேருவதனால் பருத்தல் - Enlargement due to the collection of serous fluid in the scrotum and some of the coverings of the testicle – Scrotal hydrocele.
4. குண்டலண்ட விருத்தி - வாதத்தினால் குடல்கள் பலவீனமடைந்து இயற்கையிடத்தை விட்டு நழுவி அண்டத்திற்குள் கவுட்டி வழியாய் இறங்குவதனால் பிடுக்கு பருத்துக் காணல் - swelling of the scrotum due to the presence of the intestines which had descended through the inguinal canal or distension of the hernial sac with a fluid – Hernial hydrocele.
5. அண்டத்திற்குள்ளிருக்கும் தசைகள் தடித்து யானைப்பிடுக்கைப் போல் பருத்தல் - Enlargement or overgrowth of the skin of the scrotum – Scrotal elephantiasis.
