a. சூட்டினால் உடம்பு முழுவதுஞ் தடிப்புண்டாகித் தூக்கம் வராமை, தலைவலி, வயிற்றுச் சூலை, நாவில் திமிர், படலம் எழும்பல், விக்கல், இளைத்தல், மூர்ச்சை, தாகம், கால் நோய், முதலிய குணங்களைக் காட்டும் ஓர் வகைப் பித்த நோய்.

b. A disease caused by the deranged Pitham and attended with the following symptoms viz – raised patches all over the body, sleeplessness, headache, piercing pain in the stomach, loss of sensation in the tongue, eruptions, hiccough, emaciation, fatigue, thirst, pain in the legs etc.
