a. அத்திப் பழத்தைப் போல் உடம்பிற் கொப்புளங்கள் ஏற்பட்டுப் பிறகு நசுங்கி, அழுகிக் குழி விழுந்து இரணமாகி உடம்பு முழுவதும் பரவித் துன்புறுத்தும் ஓர் வகைக் குட்ட நோய், இது பித்தக் கோளாறினால் ஏற்படும்.

b. A form of leprosy marked by an outgrowth of boils of the size of figs on the skin all over the body and their subsequent conversion into depressed slonghing ulcers. These ulcers spread rapidly and destructively, eating away the tissues. It has its origin in the deranged Pitham.
