a. முதலிற் சோகையுண்டாகிப் பிறகு வாதபித்தம் அதிகரித்து, உடம்பு மஞ்சள் அல்லது நீலநிறமடைந்து, வீக்கங் காணும் ஓர் வகைப் பாண்டு நோய். இது நீலநிறத்தைத் தருதலால் இப்பெயர் வாய்ந்தது.

b. A disease in which the blood is contaminated and a general swelling of the body is then followed with a deep yellow or blue tint to the skin. It is marked by an excessive preponderance of the deranged Vayu and Pittam. It is so called from the blue color which it imparts.
