a. பின்னிசிவு, அதாவது உடம்பை வில்லைப் போல் பின்புறமாக வளைக்கும் ஓர் வாத நோய்.

b. A tetanic condition of muscles, especially of the back, whereby there is an arching backward of the trunk which thus rests upon head and heel – Opisthotonos. This condition is generally seen in tetanus, hysteria, hydrophobia, strychnine poisoning, rheumatism etc.
