a. உணவின் குற்றத்தினால் பிறந்து தோள், முதுகு, கழுத்து, தலை, விலா ஆகிய இவ்விடங்களில் பரவிப் பித்தத்துடன் கூடி ஒரு நாள் விட்டு மறுநாளில் வேதனையை உண்டாக்கிப் பிரமை, சுரம், மூர்ச்சை, தாகம் முதலிய குணங்களையும் உண்டாக்கும் ஓர் வாத நோய்.

b. A disease of the nervous system marked by perplexity, fever, swoon, thirst etc. It occurs every alternate day and is due to the deranged condition of Vayu which extends throught the neck, the head or the ribs. It arises from incompatible articles of diet.
