அத்திமேகம்

மூத்திரம், யானை மூத்திரத்தை ஒத்து ஒருவேளை தடைபடாமலும், ஒரு வேளை தடைபட்டும், வெண்ணிறமாகவே அல்லது சிறிது நிறம் மாறியோ காணும் ஓர் அசாத்திய மேகநோய். இதில் மிக்கதாகம், பசி, பலவீனம், இளைப்பு, ஆண்குறியெழுச்சி முதலிய குணங்கள் ஏற்படுவதுமன்றி, மூத்திரத்திலும் ஈக்கள் மொய்க்கும் - A chronic diabetes characterised by the passing of a large quantity of pale or light coloured urine with or without hindrance, in an unbroken stream like that passed by an elephant – Diabetes insipidus or D. mellitus. It is attended with intense thirst, voracious appetite, loss of strength, emaciation and erection of the organ immediately after the act of micturition. In this, the urine attracts flies in large numbers. The urine may or may not contain sugar. In women, intense itching and sometimes eczema of the private part will also be noticed.
