அட்டமகா ரோகம்

ஜபம், தபம், ஓம்ம். இவைகளினாலன்றி மருந்துகளினால் எளிதில் தீராதென்ற்றிந்து ஆயுள்வேத பண்டிதர்களினால் மகாரோகங்களென வரையறுக்கப்பட்டுள்ள எண் வகை நோய்கள், அவையாவன, வாதம், கல்லடைப்பு, குட்டம், மேகம், மகோதரம், பவுத்திரம், மூலம், கிராணி. அசாத்திய ரோகம் - சூதமுனிநாடி 30-ன் வாக்கியப்படி அடியிற்கண்ட தீராத நோய்கள்-
“ஊனென்ற உடம்புதனில் தீரா ரோகம்
உரைக்கிறேன் இன்னதென்று முந்தி முந்தி
முந்தியதோர் பாதமுடன் புறங்கால் பீசம்
முகத்திலே வீக்கமது கண்டுதானால்
பிந்தியதோர் கழிச்சலுடன் கிராணியாகம்
பேசரிது தீராது சத்தியமாகும்
சிந்தியதோர் வாந்தியுடன் விக்கல் கண்டால்
தீராது தீராது திண்ணமாகும்
அந்தியதோர் க்ஷயமிருமல் சலக்கிராணி
ஆனாலுந் தீராது அசாத்தியந்தானே

“அசாத்தியந்தான் சொல்லுகிறேன் ராசாங்கத்தில்
அறிந்திடவேயின்னமொரு அடவாய்க்கேளு
அசாத்தியந்தான் நீர்க்கோர்வை சதியே குன்மம்
ஆனதொறா வலி குன்மம் யோனிப்புத்து
அசாத்தியந்தான் குறை நோவு நாக்கில் புத்து
அண்டத்தில் பவுத்திரமும் தொண்டைத்தூறும்
அசாந்தியத்தான் முயல்கிறுக்கு உள்வீச்சோடு
அனாலுத் தீராது அறிந்துகொள்ளே.

தானென்ற சலக்கழிச்சல் மதமதப்பு
தலைதனிலே அதிர்ந்தெழுந்த பிளவைதானும்
கானென்ற ருத்திரவலி கசியுங் கண்டமாலை
கன்னத்திற் புத்துடனே குமரகண்டன்
தேனென்ற மகாவாதம் சன்னிவாதம்
சேத்துமசயம் உளமாந்தை சுரமாந்தை கவிசை
ஊனென்ற உயிரழிக்கு மளவும் போகா
உள்ளபடி சொன்னோம் யாம் உறுதிப்பாரே.
ஆயுள்வேதப்படிச் சாதாரணமாய் வாதம் அபஸ்மாரம், இரத்தவாந்தி, சயம், குன்மம், மேகம் ஆகிய விவ்வாறும் அசாத்திய நோய்களெனக் கருதப்படும். - The eight kinds of diseases declared in Ayurveda to be incurable, unless by spiritual means such as, meditation, devotion or prayers, sacrificial fire etc. and they are:-
Incurable diseases, such as those mentioned in the stanzas quoted from Soodamuni Naadi (thirty)
iv. Any disease accompanied by swelling in the genital, instep or back of the hand, diarrhoea, dysentery, vomiting attended with hiccough etc. Consumption, asthma and diabetes.
v. Dropsy, dyspepsia attended with colic, chancre, leprosy, cancer of the tongue, fistula of the scrotum, fungoidal growth in the throat, epilepsy and delirium.
vi. Urinary disorders, anesthesis, cancer of the brain or the head, heart disease, goitre, cancer of the cheek, paralysis, cerebral and apoplectic rheumatism, phlegmatic asthma, disease of the internal organs, and ascites.
According to Ayurveda, generally the six disease viz. rheumatism, epilepsy, vomiting of blood, consumption, dyspepsia and diabetes are considered incurable.
