. வாயில் உண்டாகும் கொப்புளங்களின் பலவகைகள் - Different varieties of stomatitis
நாக்கு முற்றிலும் வெதுப்பினாற் சிவப்பாகி, ஆங்காங்கு சிறு சிறு கொப்புளங்களை உண்டாக்கி, நாவில் மழுங்கிய முள்ளுகளைப் பரப்பியது போல் காணப்படும் ஓர்நோய். இதுநாபி, கழுத்து, குடல் முதலியவைகளிலும் பிறக்கும். - An inflammation of the mouth characterised by painful shallow ulcers on the tongue that render its surface uneven – Stomatitis.
It may also arise in the stomach, throat, the intestines etc.
NOTE: இவ்விதக் கொப்புளங்கள் அடியிற்கண்டபடியும் வேறுகாரணங்களினாலும் ஏற்படலாம். Similar ulcers may also be produced from other auss in several organs as mentioned below.
iv. வாயினுட் சவ்விற்காணும், the formation of small superficial ulcers on the mucous membrane of the mouth – Apthous stomatitis.
v. இரசகந்தபாஷாணமருந்துகளினால்ஏற்படும், ulcerous stomatitis due to mercurial, sulphuric or arsenical poisoning – Mercurial or Arsenicalis stomatitis.
vi. காயம், உஷ்ணம் அல்லது மருந்துச்சரக்கு வகைகளினால் உண்டாகும், that which is due to some mechanical, thermal or chemical cause Stomatitis traumatica.
NOTE 2: It may also be found in diphtheria, tuberculosis, syphilis, sprue, uremia, scurvy and other diseases.
NOTE 3: It may appear in several forms such as:
iv. Simple and uncomplicated inflammation and redness of the mouth Catarrhal stomatitis.
v. Stomatitis with fever transmitted from an animal Epidemic stomatitis.
vi. Gangrenous sore mouth Noma or Gangrenous stomatitis. See also அக்கரம்.
