அசாத்திய மசூரிகை

அம்மை நோயில் கொப்புளங்கள் ஒன்றோடொன்று கலந்து கொண்டு விரணமானாலும், கொப்புளங்கள் கண்டு உடனே மறைந்தாலும் அல்லது கொப்புளங்களில் இரத்தம் போய்க் கலந்து கருகி முகத்தில் குழி விழுந்தாலும், அசாத்திய மெனக் கொள்ளப்படும் நோய் - A severe form of variola or small-pox in which-
i. The pustules become more or less confluent – Confluent variola.
ii. The contents of the pustules become absorbed – Variola Siliquosa.
iii. In which the haemorrhage occurs into the Pustules – Malignant variola.
It is held to be incurable as death nearly always occur.
NOTE: 1. The probability of death in such cases varies greatly with the severity of the cases and the character of the eruption. when the attack is complicated with other diseases such as, fever, bronchitis, pneumonia etc., the chances of recovery are greatly reduced.
